This Competition is for Solo Artists only, no assistants are permitted. Your models are unable to assist in any way.

 

Artists will need to provide a short piece of bio about their inspiration/motivation for their body art design that will be read to the Judges (not by the artist as judging is done anonymously) and also read at the final show for the winners announcement catwalk between 5-7pm. Doors open at 5pm to the public, friends & family welcome. Tickets available now.

 

All Artists must hold full public liability insurance - please contact us directly via email under subject Insurance as we have organised a special individual rate for the day for competitors as soon as possible. Please be aware you cannot compete unless you hold public ilability insurance under the event or proof of your own.

 

The Artist will have 45 minutes setting up time ahead of the competition start time. The doors will open at 9.15 and the start time is 10am. Artists will have till 4pm to complete their creation. All Artists are expected to be prepared and provide all their own equipment. The Artist must provide their own floor/wall coverings to protect the location surroundings if needed.

 

Artists will need to source their own Model for the competition, however there will be several available Models on our website please check availabilty. Please register your model prior to competition day with the form provided on our website. Please fill in form on or before friday 18th.

 

Artists Model

Nude painting is prohibited at The Irish Face and Body Painting Competition.

 

ALL Artists are to provide their Models with suitable underwear (must have straps) / nipple covers etc. prior to commencing painting and the competition start time. They must be fitted away from the public areas it is the responsibility of the Artist to ensure this. There will be designated areas for male/female models to be able to change and get prepared before the start time of the competition due to the possibility of the public attending the event at the catwalk show 5-7pm.

 

All Models must have signed our release forms (available on website now) to allow Irish Body Painting Association the right to use the images for the promotional and marketing purposes. Artists please make sure your model has done this as this is your responsibility. 

 

Any violation of the competition rules may result in point deduction or disqualification at the discretion of the judges.

 

It is not essential but it may be a nice touch to get your Model a token of appreciation for their willingness and patience for their time during the competition as all Models participate on a voluntary basis.

 

Time to complete look 

Competition date takes place on the 20th of September. The start time is 10am and finish time is 4pm. The doors will open at 9.15 for artists to set up their area. location of your set up area and artist number will be assigned during the week via email running up to the competition. Please make sure you have registered your model and yourself online (forms available now) and filled out the release form prior too or on September 18th. The artist will have 6 hrs to complete their entry piece. Set up time is not included in the 6 hrs.

 

Preparation and Rules

No make-up may to be applied to the Models face ahead of the competition except foundation and mascara if desired.

The Model's hair may be put up or styled ahead of the competition start time.

Any violation of the competition rules may result in point deduction or disqualification at the discretion of the judges.

JUDGING

 

Will take place immediately after the competition finishing time of 4pm and artists will enter the judging area (not the judging room) with their model according to their artist number. Artist numbers will be assigned the week coming up to the competition.

 

All judging is done anonymously at the end of the competition to ensure a fair result for all concerned.

 

An independent assigned person who will not liaise with Judges until after the judging has completed will be present in the competition room to oversee the rules and regulations are adhered to.

The scoring and decisions made are at the discretion of the judges and their decision is final.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY & CATWALK SHOW

 

All Artists and Models must be available after 4pm to have their entries photographed by the Photography Team immediately after the judging finishes. The after show and prizes will be announced once the doors open at 5pm till 7pm. This will be for the catwalk show, introduction of artists and their work and the results announced and lots of photo opportunities.

 

Map of runway walk will be provided and sent to you to provide too your model. It is very important to make sure you let your model know the schedule of the day and where to go.

RESULTS

 

All results will be announced after all categories have been judged.

If you are unable to attend do please ask another Delegate to accept on your behalf and inform the Organisers.

 

PRIZES

Prizes in this category are for 1st place, 2nd and 3rd.

 

 

Prizes pending sponsorship, support and entrants, etc. We are a non-profit organisation and depend on your support.

Please note organisers have the right to cancel a category or withdraw 2nd and 3rd placings if the category has not got sufficient numbers to be judged fairly.
