This Competition permits one assistant and your models are unable to assist in any way.

Assistant times 10am - 4PM

 

Assistant Rules:

The artist may work with 1 assistant. Every artist should be aware of the role of an assistant in the competition. Only the registered artist (1 person) is listed in the results. An Assistant will not be awarded as a Champion or get a certificate of the place the participating artist is getting. Of course the assistant gets all the care and access to competition related areas.

 

The assistant is allowed to help with: 

All preparation of work o Hair, Face Make-up, Nails

Processing of special effects materials and decoration

Painting on the body ONLY for the first 3 hours of the competition

 

IMPORTANT

The assistant is not allowed to do any painting work after the first 3 hours! Any failure will be penalized by knock off points up to disqualification. Note: Models may not paint themselves as this is counted as a second assistant! No more assistants than one are allowed for hairstyling etc.

 

Assisted Artist

 

Assistants are only permitted to help with the base application

Accessory application as in head pieces, the costume, etc. and holding of stencils/passing of equipment. They are not permitted to paint line work after the 3 hours 10am till 1pm.

 

General information

Artists will need to provide a short piece of bio about their inspiration/motivation for their body art design that will be read to the Judges (not by the artist as judging is done anonymously) and also read at the final show for the winners announcement catwalk between 5-7pm. Doors open at 5pm to the public, friends & family welcome. Tickets available now.

 

All Artists must hold full public liability insurance for the competition - please contact us directly via email under subject Insurance as we have organised a special individual rate for the day for competitors please contact us directly for this. Please be aware you cannot compete unless you hold public ilability insurance under the event or proof of your own.

 

The Artist will have 45 minutes setting up time ahead of the competition start time. The doors will open at 9.15 and the start time is 10am. Artists will have till 4pm to complete their creation. All Artists are expected to be prepared and provide all their own equipment. The Artist must provide their own floor/wall coverings to protect the location surroundings if needed.

 

Artists will need to source their own Model and assistant for the competition, however there will be several available Models on our website please check availabilty.

 

Please register your model and assistant prior to competition day and fill out form available online. This will be available after the 13th of September.

 

Artists Model

Nude painting is prohibited at The Irish Face and Body Painting Competition.

 

ALL Artists are to provide their Models with suitable underwear (must have straps) / nipple covers etc. prior to commencing painting and the competition start time. They must be fitted away from the public areas it is the responsibility of the Artist to ensure this. There will be designated areas for male/female models to be able to change and get prepared before the start time of the competition.

 

Irish Face and Body Painting will provide all entrants with a model release form but it is the Artist's responsibility to ensure this is signed and returned to the Organisers.

 

Any violation of the competition rules may result in point deduction or disqualification at the discretion of the judges.

 

It is not essential but it may be a nice touch to get your Model a token of appreciation for their willingness and patience for their time during the competition as all Models participate on a voluntary basis.

 

Time to complete look 

Competition date takes place on the 20th of September. The start time is 10am and finish time is 4pm. The doors will open at 9.15 for artists to set up their area. location of your set up area and artist number will be assigned during the week via email running up to competition. Please make sure you have registered your model and assistant and filled out the release form (all available online after the 13th of September) prior to September 20th. The artist will have 6 hrs to complete their entry piece. Set up time is not included in the 6 hrs.

 

Preparation and Rules

No make-up may to be applied to the Models face ahead of the competition except foundation and mascara if desired.

The Model's hair may be put up or styled ahead of the competition start time. The head pieces can be applied ahead of the competition but please be aware for the model this can be uncomfortable. Please be aware of the comfort of your model at all times.

Only professional paint, make up products, adhesives and removers may be used.

Contact lenses may be used and can be applied ahead of the competition start time. If you prefer you can apply within the competition time though please be aware maximum time for wearing contacts safely is 2 hours depending on how comfortable your Model is with wearing them.

 

Any violation of the competition rules may result in point deduction or disqualification at the discretion of the judges.

JUDGING

 

Will take place immediately after the competition finishing time depending on category.

 

All judging is done anonymously at the end of the competition to ensure a fair result for all concerned.

 

An independent assigned person who will not liaise with Judges until after the judging has completed will be present in the competition room to oversee the rules and regulations are adhered to.

The scoring and decisions made are at the discretion of the judges and their decision is final.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY

 

All Artists and Models must be available to have their entries photographed by the Photography Team immediately after the judging finishes.

All Artists and Models must have signed release forms to allow Irish Body Painting Association the right to use the images for the promotional and marketing purposes.

 

RESULTS

 

All results will be announced after all categories have been judged.

If you are unable to attend do please ask another Delegate to accept on your behalf and inform the Organisers.
